Have you ever tried painting in your life? Painting is an art that you can apply or brush on a solid surface and there are different types of paint you can use. For example, a common paint that is used is, Acrylic paint. Some of the different types you can also use are oil pastels, water color, gouache, and more!
Unlike all the 3 dimensional forms like a sculpture or pottery, this artwork is a 2-dimensional piece of art. Paintings have color, texture, shapes, lines, and tone. Painting captures the painter’s vision, whether that means their emotions or their ideas. There are different forms of painting. For example, a scroll painting is a painting that uses ink on parchment or silk that is unrolled to view. This form of art was especially popular in Chinese or Japanese art. Another form of art is mural painting which is on walls or ceilings.
Paintings were invented when people drew on rocky walls. The oldest painting was almost over 42,000 years ago. The first painting was made by Homo or the Neanderthals in the prehistoric era. Painting is important because of the big history behind it.
